Strategic
Alliances
A number of United States
Universities endorsed and supported the mission and objectives of the University
project to advance opportunity for prosperity and progress through education.
The belief that education can make a significant contribution not only to the
development of the Middle East but also to the long term stability and peace of
the region has attracted American prestigious universities.
Indiana University and a
consortium of major mid-western schools including Purdue, Wisconsin, Notre Dame,
Maine, Ohio State, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Louisville, University of Kentucky
etc. have agreed to collaborate with the AUP/AUJ and develop its curricula.
The Curriculum for each
Program will be developed by its key initial Faculty with the advice of its
Advisory Committee and in collaboration with a sister American University.
Different programs at the Universities of Indiana, Louisville, Purdue, Notre
Dame, Wisconsin, and Maine... have already committed themselves to participate
in curriculum.
Congressional Support for
the AUP and its mission was strong and committed since inception. The Honorable
Lee Hamilton wrote letters of support applauding the merits of its mission to
Middle East Peace, and recommending to Palestine to endorse and host the AUP.
Members of Department of
State graciously provided counsel, mentoring and guidance and consistently
provided to help bridge any gaps and encourage serious implementation; all in
dedication to serve the cause of Middle East Peace.
