The Principles of freedom and democracy in political,
intellectual and economic conduct were exercised and eternalized by the American
people and institutions.
Americans are in constant quest for progress, and prosperity in a secure and
peaceful world. History of mankind
is a constant reminder that we are members of a larger world community; and
whether we wish it or not, nationalism, ideologies, politics, economics,
conflicts and wars, no matter how far they are from us, are always a challenge
to our ideals, and always potentially disruptive to our own plans, interests and
existence.
Universal education,
industrialization, technology, and mass communications reduced the national
barriers, and made our world smaller.
It became imperative for us to
broaden our concerns to more than ourselves, our immediate families,
communities, cities, states and nations. The circle of our concern gradually encompassed the world community,
and our struggle to shrink animosity in this world gradually escalated.

The American University of Palestine and
its FANUES Foundation are established to serve the needs of Middle East peace,
by providing the equality of opportunity, the education towards parity of
economy, and the lessons of interaction. They are one tangible American
contribution to prepare proficient individuals who would build an integrated
regional economy and help tear down the psychological barriers: The partners in
peace can then reap its rewards of progress and prosperity.
FANUES is nonprofit tax-exempt American foundation established as a corporation
in the Commonwealth of Kentucky under United States Law.
It operates under IRS Code 501 (c) (3).
FANUES supports the
mission and objectives and plans of the American University of Palestine, Inc (AUP).
and operates as its twin institution.
It is responsible to:
1.
Raise and receives gifts from the
private sector,
2. Administer gift funds, and
3. Manage all non-instructional operations
of the American University of Palestine, operating completely in a transparent
manner.
FANUES provides an
innovative financial solution to the AUP operating budget, and serves as a
legitimate and reliable liaison center to promote all kinds of cultural,
commercial, and business enterprises that promote Middle East peace, and its
global economic foundation, at the local, regional and international levels.
FANUES and AUP will serve the best interests of the US, Palestine, Israel,
Jordan and the regional and international community.
